2016 president's welcome
Welcome to the Beautiful Broadmoor,
My wife, Margaret and I extend a very warm welcome to you, as we hope to greet you in person in Colorado Springs in April.
I am writing this letter during the holiday season. This is the time of year when we are reminded to be thankful for much that we have been given. Many of us will be able spend the holidays with family and friends, where we are reminded that those are the things that really matter.
Amy Purdy, our guest speaker at our convention in Colorado Springs, who lost her legs to bacterial meningitis as a young girl, sums it this way: “Gratitude. Focusing on what I have versus focusing on what I don’t have. Being thankful for everything, even in moments when it seems we have nothing”.
Margaret and I are both very excited about our location for the 2016 convention – the Broadmoor is truly a beautiful property and I hope you will enjoy spending time in the mountains of Colorado – the source of inspiration for Katherine Lee Bates – America the Beautiful. And as an integral part of our company team, I am always extremely interested in learning about what’s in the forecast for the future. When we begin our convention with the dynamic combination of a leading economist and a panel of industry experts discussing the trends and future of the hose and fittings industry, I hope you will plan your arrival to be in house on Saturday to soak up their knowledge.
Our theme for 2016 is Learn, Share, Connect. That is certainly my goal for all of our attendees in Colorado! Please plan to take advantage of all three – learning during our educational sessions and in conversations with your peers, sharing your company’s expertise with your suppliers and your customers and connecting in a very meaningful way with all of the over 1100 hose and fittings specialists that we expect to see in attendance.
Our UID-in-a-Day program has proved to be very valuable to attendees over the years. Please take advantage of the offerings on Sunday. You can use your attendance to earn credits towards a Certificate in Innovative Distribution from Purdue University.
With a plethora of offerings, from educational opportunities to golf and tours, fun social events for networking, I encourage you and other members of your team to sign up and join us in Colorado. It may very well be the best decision that you make in 2016. See you in Colorado Springs!
