When and where is NAHAD’s 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention?

What COVID-19 policies and procedures will NAHAD enforce during the 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention?

NAHAD wants to ensure our members that the health and safety of each attendee is at the forefront of our minds. As a result, Convention attendees and staff will be expected to adhere to all San Diego County COVID-19 policies and procedures that are in place at the time of our 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention. The hospitality industry has worked exceptionally hard during these past few months to ensure a safe and enjoyable in-person meeting experience. What happens if the 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention is rescheduled or canceled due to COVID-19?

NAHAD is closely monitoring travel restrictions and other protocols in place related to COVID-19. The health of our attendees is our highest priority, and during the planning process, NAHAD will be following all safe meeting protocols that have been established by the property and San Diego County. If NAHAD needs to reschedule its Annual Meeting & Convention to a date later in the year, NAHAD will distribute a complete refund for all registrations and hotel reservations, or if the attendee prefers, will defer their fees to the rescheduled date.

 

How do I register for the event?

Attendee registration will open on November 17, 2020! To register for the 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention, please visit our Attendee Registration webpage.

How do I make my hotel reservation?

A rooming block has been set up at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina at the discounted NAHAD group rate of $299 plus tax. To receive the discounted rate, you must make your hotel reservations by the cut-off date of March 18, 2021. You can make your reservation online or by calling the hotel at 619-234-1500.

 

What is included with my hotel reservation?

The Marriott Marquis is offering a block of rooms with the options of 1 King bed or 2 Queen beds at $299 per night (not including tax) over the dates of NAHAD’s 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention. Upgraded room options can be reserved through the NAHAD room block based on availability at the time of reservation; prices will vary depending on the product chosen.

 

What time is check-in/check-out at the hotel?

Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am local time.

 

Into what airport should I fly?

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest airport to the Marriott Marquis. The San Diego Airport is a 4-mile drive from the hotel.

What are some local dining options?

On-site hotel options include Marina Kitchen Restaurant & Bar, Tequila Bar & Grille, Roy’s, Exchange, and Starbucks. If you are looking for off-site restaurants, be sure to check out the recommended local dining options!

I’d like to exhibit at the 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention. How do I go about this?

Our Exhibitors webpage lists content such as booth prices, the exhibit floor plan, and the exhibitor rules & regulations. The show floor plan has been designed to adhere to San Diego county and city regulations for social distancing. As always exhibit spaces will be separated by pipe and drape and to maximize the safety of NAHAD members and exhibitors, expanded aisles and open space have been built into the floor plan. Please plan your exhibits accordingly.

Is there a Conference App?

Yes, NAHAD has a designated app for the 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention! Information to download the app will be shared with registered attendees prior to the start of the event.

 

I can no longer attend. How do I cancel my and hotel reservation and conference registration?

Hotel Cancellation Policy:

The hotel’s room cancellation policy (non-COVID) is as follows: You may cancel your reservation for no charge before 11:59 pm local hotel time one day before your arrival.

Attendee Registration Cancellation Policy:

  • By January 15, 2021: Cancellation with a full refund
  • January 16 – February 22, 2021: Partial refund (50%)

After February 22, 2021: No refund (except for medical emergency to be received in writing at the NAHAD office, or if the conference is postponed due to changes related to COVID regulations)

Exhibitor Cancellation Policy:

If NAHAD’s 2021 Annual Meeting & Convention needs to be postponed or canceled for any COVID-related regulation or reason, all exhibitors will be refunded in full, regardless of the date of the announced postponement or cancellation. To obtain a refund for exhibitor fees, written notice of cancellation must be received at the NAHAD office by the dates noted below:

  • By January 15, 2021: Full refund
  • January 16-22, 2021: $700 cancellation fee
  • After January 22, 2021: No refund
