NAHAD will host its 2nd annual Hose Safety Institute in-person training program, October 5-6, 2020 in Houston. This program will be in conjunction with Hose & Coupling World, scheduled for October 6-7.  It will include valuable hands-on training as well as a series of interactive educational sessions.  Don't miss out on this unique and value-added program. Registration will open in early May. 

NAHAD hosted a Hose Safety Institute in-person training program, on September 10-11, 2019 in Cleveland, OH. The program was designed to promote and encourage the adoption of Hose Safety Institute guidelines and best practices in hose design, manufacturing, and fabrication. Attendees participate in classroom learning and had hands-on experiences fabricating hose. Activities showcased and demonstrated how Hose Safety Institute guidelines are used in practice.

Frank has more than 40 years of experience in hydraulic, industrial, metal hose and expansion joints, and is the “Dean” of Hose Master’s training program, Hose Master University. He is nationally recognized as a leading authority in metal hose, and has authored various articles for industry

publications and became a sought-after source for industry facts and trends.

Sam Foti Sam Foti Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Hose Master

Sam (Sammy) was one of the founders of Hose Master, alongside of his father, Sam J. Foti, when the company began in 1982. Sammy received his engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and later achieved a Master’s degree in business from Case Western Reserve University.  He has been actively involved in NAHAD in numerous capacities including as a Founding member of NAHAD’s original Hose Assembly Standards Committee.

Norm FyeNorm Fye, General Manager, Summers Rubber

Norm started with Summers Rubber as the Operations Manager in 2013.  In 2017 he was promoted to General Manager.  He has more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing including 15 years serving in a variety of positions in the Abrasives and Plastics industry.  Norm has an educational background in Automation Engineering. 

Andrew KalinowskiAndrew Kalinowski, Director of International Business Development

Andrew has been involved, in one form or another in the Industrial hose Industry since he was 13.
He represents the third generation of his family in the Industry and he brings a deeper understanding and knowledge of the hose market. Andrew is a member of the Standards Committee.

Brent LillyBrent Lilly, Director of Sales & Marketing, Thermoid

Brent has been in the industry for 37 years with a variety of Application Engineering, Sales, and Marketing positions. During that time, he has worked for The Gates Rubber Co, Titan Industries, and Parker Hannifin. He joined Thermoid October 2019 where he has responsibility for the Sales and Marketing Teams who provide quality Industrial Hose solutions to the marketplace.

Rob LyonsRob Lyons, President, TIPCO Technologies

Rob was named President of TIPCO Technologies in 2001 after serving as its Territory Manager for 16 years. With his skill in business development and expertise in the wholesale industry, Rob has grown TIPCO exponentially in his 35 years with the company. Under his guidance, TIPCO Technologies joined the Eaton Platinum and Continental STAR Distributor Network.  Rob served as President of NAHAD from 2009-2010.

Lance MillerLance Miller, Ph.D., Chief Chemist, Industrial Hose, ContiTech

Lance has been with ContiTech since 2014.  Earlier in his career, Lance worked for Gates Corporation holding Senior Polymer and R&D positions in the Fluid Power, AirSprings Venture and Power Transmission divisions.  His formal education is from the University of Akron with a Ph.D., is in Polymer Science and undergraduate degree is in Physics with minors in Chemistry and Mathematics. 

Jeff NitzJeff Nitz, Regional Sales Manager, Dixon Valve & Coupling

Jeff started his career in distribution with Ritter Technology Detroit in 1997. He moved onto Parker Hannifin in Fluid Power in 2004 before becoming an Industrial Hose Product Manager in 2007.  In 2015, Jeff joined Dixon Valve & Coupling as their Ohio Valley Regional Manager.

Dennis OwensDennis Owens, Director of Procurement, Summers Rubber

Dennis has been with Summers Rubber, in numerous capacities, since 1974.  In that time, he has had a front-row seat to many the changes and innovations that have occurred not only at Summers but also in the industry.  Dennis is on the management team for Summers ISO program.  He attended Whiting Business College.   

JoannaJoanna Truitt, Director of Training and Hose Safety Institute, NAHAD

Joanna joined the NAHAD team in 2018.  Since then she’s immersed herself in learning more about the industry and challenges faced by distributors.  Joanna has years of experience with non-profit organizations and adult education.  She has a penchant for process redesign and problem-solving.  When not dreaming about hoses, she likes to spend her weekends at the ocean.  

Susanna VandenbergSusanna Vandenberg, Marketing Manager, Flexaust

Susanna has been in Hose and Ducting Industry for over 20 years. She started in 1998 as an integral part of building the Hi Tech Hose, Inc. brand before moving on to join the Flexaust sales and marketing team as Marketing Manager in 2007. She’s a driven marketing leader with a proven record of generating growth, market share, branding, communications and profitability. Susanna joined the NAHAD Board of Directors in 2018 as chair of the Standards Committee and liaison to the NAHAD Executive Committee.
