Celebrate Hose Safety Awareness Week (HSAW)

A Week of Hose Safety to Promote Everyday Best Practices

September 8–14, 2024

NAHAD is committed to ensuring that all hose manufacturers and distributors have the tools they need to promote hose safety with their teams and end-users. NAHAD, through the Hose Safety Institute (HSI) provides education and training through a series of prescribed best practices, educational webinars, downloadable resources, and hands-on instruction throughout the year.

In recognition of these efforts and to promote the importance of hose safety essentials, NAHAD has designated the week of September 8–14, 2024 Hose Safety Awareness Week. This is a week where members can come together in a concentrated way to highlight the actionable safety approaches implemented within their daily business operations to keep staff and customers safe.

I’ve come to understand the complexity and the significance of the job we do in this industry.  We perform tasks from manufacturing to application engineering; from fabrication of high-pressure assemblies to complex problem solving using a wide variety of products to serve our customers.   The quality of our effort and the focus on quality and safety touches almost every corner of the world and impacts almost every area of modern life.  This job we do is truly a profession.  A Hose Safety Institute qualified member has gathered the knowledge and the wisdom that qualify them to engage in these endeavors at the highest level.   As an industry, we are obligated to not only document this knowledge but pass it on to future generations. The Hose Safety Institute embodies the combined knowledge of those that went before us and allows us to contribute current and future findings that give our industry foundation and support the future of our profession.  HSI has become synonymous with quality and safety in the hose industry.
